Finleys problems

The moment i found out i was pregnant was amazing, however problems started from week 15.... I was affected by gestational diabetes during pregnancy then i began to get ichy this was from a pregnancy issue called OC - Obstetric cholestasis is a rare complication of pregnancy. A build-up of bile acids in the bloodstream causes a persistent itch in the last third of pregnancy. There may be a small increased risk of complications of pregnancy associated with this condition. My bile acids were VERY high and the doctor had never seen anything like this before so i was admitted into hospital. I remember being in hospital and because OC isnt well known not much was said to me about it so i didnt really take it 100% serious... I rememember the consultant coming up to me and taking me aside and saying" your baby may die" It broke me, my whole life changed in that moment. OC can course early labour and at 32 weeks i went into labour with my stunning baby boy but sadly my cord snapped and Finley lost to much blood. He came out blue and they fighted so hard to get him back it felt like a life time.... They got him back but he had so many problems, he was now brain damaged from not breathing and would never ,see, hear or even walk.... and his kidneys along with aload of other things didnt work. They said if we didnt let finley go his body would flood from all the things they were giving him and he would die a painfull death... how could i sit back as a mother and let my son go through so much pain? Finley sadly however made my mind up for me and at 2 days old he went to live with the angels!! Finley had a number of issues Hypoxic ischemic insult, Prematurity, Disseminated intravascular coagulation, Anemia (due to snapped cord during labour) ,Acute renal failure, Brain Damage ... all these problems and still they cant tell us WHY?!?!? Doctors seem to think it may be related to the OC however because its not researched and i was so rare no one can tell us for sure why all this happened. OC is rare and has only come to light over the last 20 years, its not very well known and funds are very low for them to do more research on this. More people NEED TO BE MADE AWARE of this killer called OC!!!!
