I wanted to share my experience with you about my pregnancies. My first experience with oc was dec 2010 I was 34 weeks pregnant with my daughter chloe. I had unbearable itching around Xmas and luckily my midwife had warned me about itching so after much googling I called maternity at my local hospital I was told to go in asap. I went in and was hooked up to fetal monitor bloods taken etc. I was then called the next day and told to come straight to hospital where I was again hooked up and diagnosed with oc and sent away with a massive bag on medication piriton, urso and vitamin k. I was monitored twice a week and induced at 37 weeks as my daughter had growth restriction and was 5lb. Thankfully she was born happy and healthy. My 2nd pregnancy came as a shock when chloe was 6 months old. I itched from 6 weeks preggy all the way through but never got diagnosed. I had problems with premature labour at 28,30 & 32 weeks but my 2nd daughter Aimee hung in there till I was induced at 38 weeks for growth restriction!! I believe I had oc with Aimees pregnancy as it was all to similar to chloes pregnancy! Awareness needs to be raised! I have told a number of medical professionals that I had oc to be greeting with a frown and 'what's that' surely they should know! I had little support from my partner because he just thought oh its only itching. I think because the symptoms aren't very obvious to everyone else it gets looked over. This condition does the unthinkable! I am very lucky to have my girls and when I read this story I sobbed my heart out! Something needs to be done! Babies are dying!
